Website Design, Development, & Management

15+ Years of Crafting Pixel-Perfect Websites for People Who Expect More

I specialize in frontend development with a strong focus on user experience by creating clean, responsive interfaces that are both intuitive and visually engaging. I've built and maintained websites across a variety of content management systems (CMS) through both full-time positions and freelance projects. While I have backend development experience, my core strength lies in translating design into functional, user-friendly digital experiences.

Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences

2020-Present

The Craft CMS design for the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences website was established before I joined the Huck Communications Team. As Huck’s Frontend Developer, I focus on creating responsive, user-friendly interfaces that support the Huck's and Penn State University's strategic goals. I work closely with backend developers at WPSU to ensure a seamless and cohesive web experience across Huck’s seven graduate programs and more than 30 research centers and institutes.

The Symbiotic Podcast

2020-Present

I developed this standalone website as a dedicated marketing platform for The Symbiotic Podcast, a production of the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences. Built using the Podca template from ColorLib, I maintain the site manually without the use of a CMS. Custom features I integrated into the template include popup windows for episode transcripts, embedded video players for the Symbiotic Shorts series, and a “back to top” button for improved navigation.

Peake Vacation Rentals

2021-Present

This vacation rental website is a freelance project in which I designed and built a website using Lodgify, incorporating the client’s original photography. I also assisted with content creation and continue to manage the site, including regular updates to pricing structures.

2024

I designed and built this public service announcement website from scratch using the Fortunato theme in WordPress. It served as the final project for ART 211Y: Introduction to Digital Art and Design Criticism, which I completed at Penn State World Campus. All content—including infographics, immersive audio, and written text—was created entirely by me. This is a static site that requires no further development or maintenance.

South Hills School of Business & Technology

2016-2021

As responsive web standards evolved, South Hills needed a fully mobile-friendly website. The new marketing director entrusted me with leading the project independently, so I used WordPress and built a new site using the BeTheme framework. As of April 2025, the school continues to use the core structure of the website design I developed, now updated with current content organized and maintained by the developer who succeeded me.

South Hills School of Business & Technology Store

2016-2021

I designed and built an online merchandise store for South Hills using Shopify. Although the school has since discontinued online sales, the project gave me valuable experience in e-commerce design and platform management.

South Hills School of Business & Technology

2014-2015

I collaborated with a local web design company to develop a new, more collegiate-looking website for the school. We moved away from the original blue tones in favor of a more vibrant, dynamic color palette. We opted to use the WordPress CMS to build this version, and for the first time in the school’s history, the website was designed for mobile devices.

South Hills School of Business & Technology

2010-2013

This was my first professional web design project. After the contracted design company failed to deliver a site after over a year of development, I was given just the CSS files and took over the project. I had no experience with PHP or HTML. Within about six weeks of intensive work, I successfully launched a fully functional site. Built using raw PHP files without a CMS, the site also included the school’s first online application form. As a result of this work, I was promoted to Webmaster.
